We always seem to be too wrapped up in our work to remember the photos. Afters are easy, but these days seems customers want to see a little bit more of the project.
As the company grows we are trying to discipline ourselves to stop and snap a couple durings throughout the projects, the crew is a little too camera shy so there won't be too many selfies.....hopefully.

Pond Dredging Using Mud-pump and dewatering bag technique

We have been asked time and time again why we have decided to dredge the pond using this method.
Well there isn't one simple answer, but many that have added up to pumping it rather than draining all the water and excavating.
First is the environmental impact. Due to the pond being spring fed, diverting the water was impractical.
We also considered the effect on the wildlife. Although it may not seem it, the pond is full of life! There is everything from a school of fish, tadpoles, frogs and even turtles! Capturing and re-locating would have been time consuming and ineffective.
Another deciding factor was time. We estimated the amount of time it would take for the muck to dry to the point where it would be workable with machinery compared to pumping it out to dry. After a couple of the crew members "volunteered" to take the plunge and see how deep it actually was. We discovered the pond is basically a surprisingly deep bowl made of clay and evaporation would have taken too long. Another factor was the neighbors. Although a big sediment bag in the driveway isn't the most attractive, imagine a dried up smelly "swamp" on a hot day. After considering all of the pros and cons to each option, we realized that pumping was the way to go.
